19th Century Classical Charles X Burled Secretaire a Abattant

A dramatic Charles X fall front secretary in astounding burled walnut veneer. The original fossilized marble top is supported by an elliptical molding. The main body contains one upper drawer and three below the desk area. The secretary workspace features its original weathered leather writing surface and a number of drawers and prospect door. France, circa 1840.

The case of the secretary is in very fine original condition. Retains original key. Minor veneer repairs throughout. Original leather surface is lifting and could be replaced if desired. One inner desk drawer knob missing.
