Fine George III mahogany hall chair, the shield backs bear painted heraldic crests: one half lions rampant and the other swans.  The banner below reads "Donimus provident."  The seat bears a circular recess and molded edge on tapering square legs and stretchers.  Gillows of Lancaster, England c. 1800.
