An exceptional round tilt-top table with mellowed rich rosewood of spectacular butterfly veneer. The slab top rests on a narrow crossbanded drum and is supported by an exuberant carved pedestal base with thickly modeled petals and gadrooned base. The four paw legs splay from large C-curves and bold brackets of solid rosewood. A truly magnificent form of the table which could serve as a library, centre, or breakfast table, England, circa 1820.
