The two demilune feature a graceful elliptical shape with flame mahogany veneer on the frieze and crossbanding of holly and mahogany. The tabletops are composed of single magnificent boards of mahogany that bear stunning patina and color. The tapering square legs terminate into the ground with ogee mahogany collars. The rear legs of the tables gate leg to receive leaves; the two tables once formed a magnificent Federal banquet table and could be made to serve as a dining table with the addition of central section.
